Another busy weekend for the Road Runners. The Strathallan 5 mile race took place on Saturday evening which was part of the Summer Series. 24 Green Vests took part out of 101 runners with Ronnie Glen first back in 21st position with a time of 32.13 followed closely by Neil Muir in 32.16, Stuart Fraser 33.21,Lenny Burnett 34.04,Elvis Reid 34.32,Paul Grace 34.33,Claire Douglas 34.46,Stewart Dallas 34.57,Simon Grieshaber 35.13,John Rudd 35.49,Richard Hughes 36.40,Craig Antrobus 37.57,Bob Brown 39.43.Marianne Mclevy 40.08,David “the Red Squirrel” Wood 41.58,Linda Oneill 43.56,Gillian Smith 43.58,Caroline Hogarth 46.12,Julie Reid 46.17,Alan Paterson 47.04,Daile Sipple 47.36,Fiona Muir 52.02,Jean Mccullough 54.19 and Fiona Morrison 56.39 completed the group home with another fantastic turnout from Perth.
Pete Ritchie ran the Stockholm Marathon at the weekend and ran a brilliant 3hrs 59 mins in very wet conditions.
The 80th Perth Parkrun took place at the weekend with 6 green vests taking part out of 157 runners. Mike Carroll was first home in 16 mins 40. Greg Simpson managed 17.15, Mark Dunn 18.30,Grant Wooler 20.02,Karen Walters 29.10and Kenny Stewart 33.26.
The Edinburgh Marathon took place on Sunday. Very stormy conditions ensued with the wind into the faces of the runners on the way back.
Duncan Ryan ran brilliantly to come home in 3 hrs 3 mins only being denied the magical sub 3 hrs by the howling wind. Kevin Rogers continued his impressive running managing 3 hrs 22 mins. Dave Macfadyen 3hrs 28, Barry Campbell 3.39 Jimmy Fotheringham 3.54.
Sue Jones 3.57 with Kenny Stewart completing his 102nd marathon.
Any potential runners are welcome to come along on Tuesday nights at 6.30 pm from Bells for the club run. All levels of running being catered for.
Thursday night 6.30pm from the Jubilee car park kinnoull hill for Interval training.

A very busy weekend of running started off with the Perth Relay event. A 1.5 mile run round the North Inch saw 60 adults and children take part in teams of 3.The first adult team home was Greg Simpson,Dave Hunter and Mike Carroll in a very impressive time of 7.01 and a new record.The first junior team home was Rubén,Luke and Alastair in a cracking time of 8.59.
The Perth Parkrun was next up and 16 Green Vests lined up with Mike Carroll first home in 16 mins 35 secs closely followed by Greg Simpson in16.40. Mike Souter managed a new Pb in a time of 17.52 showing that all his munro bagging is paying dividends.Mark Dunn also ran a PB in a time of 18.11.Ronnie Glen ran sub 19 mins by a second with Stuart Fraser running a new PB in 19.02.Dave Hunter 19.03,Jordan Strachan 19.08,Alasdair McGill 21.26 and new PB,Stewart Reid22.42,Marianne McLevy 23.32,Kenny Stewart 23.42,Dave Wood 24.11, Sally Newton ran brilliant to post a new PB in 28.03,Karen Walters 28.52 and Fiona Morrison 33.01.
10 Road Runners also made the long journey to do the Isle Of Skye Half Marathon on Sunday with Duncan Ryan running a great 1.25 on a very undulating course.Nicola Crowe and Fiona Angus cracked the 1.40 barrier with 1.39.14 and 1.39.39 respectively.John Rudd managed 1.42 with Sonjia Crow 1.45.Bob Brown 1.49,Allison Brown 1.53,Pete Ritchie 1.59,Linda ONeill 2.03 and Caroline Ness 2.37 completed the contingent home.
Barry Campbell managed a terrific 3.30 at the Liverpool Marathon on Sunday only 2 weeks after Edinburgh.
The Glenorchil 10k took place on Sunday and 5 Road Runners took part with Derek Mcintosh leading them home in just over 40 mins, Simon Grieshaber was next in 43.07 with Elvis Reid next in 43.28 David Stokoe ran well to finish in 46.04 with the Dave Wood showing that he truly is heading to sub 50 min 10ks again managing 51.01.
The Lawbreaker takes place on Weds next week with The Milnathort Dash on Thursday.

Sunday saw the championship race at Glenrothes 10k take centre stage. A fantastic 26 green vests out of a field of 444 took part.Duncan Ryan was 1st home from Perth and 13th overall in a cracking time of 37.38.Dave Macfadyen improving all the time was next in 40.50.
Simon Grieshaber ran 41.55 showing that the Glenorchil 10k last week is sharpening him up nicely.Elvis Reid 43.05,Stewart Dallas 43.38,Richard Hughes 45.11,David Stokoe 45.13,Sonjia Crow was first Female Road Runner back in a tremendous 46.09,Craig Antrobus 46.44,Nick Brian 47.45,Legendary Bob Brown was first home in the over 70 category in 49.11 with Marianne McLevy next in 49.30, David the “Red Squirrel” Wood was next in 49.58 and broke the magic 50 min barrier.
Catriona Liddell 51.39,peter Ritchie 52.05,Margaret Mcintosh ran a brilliant 53.21 and won the first over 60 prize.,Sue Jones 54.23,Gillian Smith 55.22,Alan Paterson 57.38,Sally Newton 57.59,Caroline Hogarth 58,06,Julie Reid 58.55,Jean McCullough 64.34,Eleanor Paul 67.15,Caroline Ness 69.05 and Fiona Morrison 69.17 completed a fabulous turnout from the Perth Road Runners.
The 83rd running of the Perth Parkrun also took place at the weekend with 8 runners taking part out of a field of 142.Mark Dunn was 4 th home and first PRR in a speedy 18.42,Flying Kenny Stewart was next in 23.04 with Ronnie Glen cruising home in 23.44.Susan Smith was first female PRR in 24.33 with Fiona Hair running a very respectable 27.10,Karen Walters posted a sub 39 min run managing 29.40.Eleanor Paul 36.30 and Caroline Hogarth on 36.45 completed another fine event for the Green Vests.
Special mention to Nicola Crowe and Richard Ward for completing the Rob Roy Challenge at the weekend which is 16 miles on foot with a further 39 miles on your bike.
The usual club run at 6.25pm on Tuesday night from Bells Sports Centre takes place with any new potential runners welcome to come along.
