Another busy week in the Road Runners season saw the summer series take precedent with Thursday nights Milnathort Dash which is a 5.26 mile race. This included a 400metre hill start which saw a king and queen crowned for getting to the top first. In the main race Mike “soapy” Souter came home 1st for the green vests and 10th overall in a cracking time of 32mins 31secs. Neil Muir running well was next home in 34.16,Stuart tic Tac Fraser 35,Jimmy Fotheringham 35.56,Simon Grieshaber 36.05,Baz Campbell 36.43,Fifi Angus was first female Road Runner home in a tremendous time of 37.38,Elvis Reid 38.19,Nicola Crowe 39.01.David Stokoe 39.10,Sonjia Crow 39.56,Paul Grace 39.57,Kenny “pink shorts “Stewart 41.24,Bob “Legendary” Brown 41.32 and first over 70 home,Marianne McLevy 43,Craig Antrobus 43.47,Pete Ritchie 45,46,Gillian Smith 47.14,Caroline Hogarth 49.05,Alan Paterson 49.10,Daile Sipple 49.46,Sally Newton 50.02,Jean McCullough 54.35,Fiona Provan 56.42 and Fiona Morrison 1hr 1 min completed a magnificent turnout of 25 runners from Perth home out of a field of 143.
The Hills are alive series also took place during the week with the Lawbreaker in the Ochill hills.Paul Grace coming home in 55th place in a time of 54 mins.This was a great run as it was 5.4 Kms in distance with 663 metres of ascending. Extremely hard on the quads.
Pete Ritchie also completed the Larig Ghru which is a 43 km hill race between the police stations of Braemar and Aviemore. He completed the course in 6hr 48 mins and although saying it was a beautiful run he would never do it again!
The 84 th Parkrun also took place on Saturday with 15 green vests taking part out of 162 runners. Greg Simpson was first home in 16.31 and a new PB,Michael Mconnell was next in 18.08,Dave Macfadyen 19.25 and new PB, Simon Grieshaber 19.52, Stuart Fraser 20.09, Ronnie Glen 20.57, Richard Ward 21.50,Kenny Stewart 23.37.First timer Shaunie Clark ran well to post a time of 26.06,Linda O’Neill 27.40,Karen Walters 29.33,First timer Julie Johnston sped home in 35.41,Caroline Hogarth 37.14 and Fiona Morrison cruised home in 37.20 completing another great turnout from the PRR’s.

Pride of place this week went to the Crieff 10k and the last of the summer series races.22 Road runners made the trip to take part.
A tough course with plenty climbing and muddy downhill sections was the order of the day

The Dundee half marathon also took place with Michael McConnell racing home in 1hr 26 mins with Kevin Rogers managing 1hr 33 mins. Susan Smith ran 2hrs 3mins with Shaunie Clark running 2 hrs 13 mins.
The Perth 86th Parkrun also took place with 16 runners taking part out of 139.Stuart Fraser ran 19.18,Mike Dales 21.58 and a new PB.Jimmy Fotheringham managed 22.48,Fiona Manson 23.28,Allison Brown 23.58,Kenny Stewart 24.27,David Wood 25.32, Caroline Hogarth 27.32,Fiona Hair 27.48,Mel Macrae 28.38,Sally Newton 29.01,Jean Mccullough 31.28,Grant Strachan 31.57,Maureen Summers 32.22,Fiona Morrison 34.05 and Karen Walters 34.13 completed the green vests home and another great turnout.

The weekend saw the Alexis Rose Trail race take place at Moncrieffe hill.15 Green Vests took part out of a field of 119. First back for the runners and first place overall was new addition to the club Michael McConnell in 42.49,Brian Cooper ran well to finish in 47.31 with Ronnie Glen managing 48.34, Stuart Fraser pushing him all the way to finish only 1 second behind him.
Paul Grace 51.59,Kevin Rogers 52.58,Grant Strachan 53.45,Mike Dales 54.22,Richard Ward 54.54,Fiona Manson 57.07,Barry Campbell 59.33,Marianne McLevy 1.02.48 ,Peter Ritchie 1.10.51 and Shauna Reid 1.16.36 completed another fine turnout for the Road Runners.
The 87th parkrun took place on Saturday and 8 Perth Road Runners took part out of a field of 97.
Greg Simpson was first home in 17.17,Michael Souter was next home in 18.02.Jordan Strachan ran well to come home in 19.09 with Stuart Fraser running another cracking time of 19.20,Jimmy Fotheringham managed 19.40,Caroline Jones was next in 22.49,Kenny Stewart 22.50 and Eleanor Martin 33.52 and a new PB completed the runners home.

Another busy weekend saw The Dirty Weekend Trail Race take place organised by the Falkland Trail Runners.This consisted of 3 individual runs on Friday,Saturday and Sunday which was approximately 20 Kms in total distance.The Nutcracker,The Pschyo Skwerl Splash and Skull Mountain Trail Race completed the trio of runs.153 runners took part and Neil Muir was 22 nd home in a smashing time of 1 hr 49 mins out of the 11 Perth Road Runners that made the trip down.Angie Irving made a great return to competitive running in a time of 1hr 51.Paul Grace 1.54.41 Stewart Reid 1.54.48,Richard Hughes 1.59,Craig Antrobus 2.07,Vicky Park 2.12,Gillian Smith 2.22,Daile Sipple 2.42,Caroline Hogarth 2.46 and Eleanor Paul 2.47 completed the green vests home.
The Perth 88th Parkrun took place on Saturday and 6 Road Runners Took part.Brian Cooper was the first green vest home in 19.06, with Kenny Stewart following him in 22.01, Ronnie Glen ran 23.51,Karen Walters 29.46,Robin Wombill 32.15 and Fiona Morrison 32.43.
Normal club run from Bells Sports Centre on Tuesday night at 6.25 pm.
